explosions rattling all around the plains, like a thunderstorm
the waves crashing far above the shores, like a hurricane
a hue of red is flowing through the streams, just floating by
i pray when i open up my eyes, it was just a dream
we run around, through chaos on the ground
trying all our best, to put this to an end, once again
the violence spreads, I'm losing all my friends
this battle's so alive, yet no one wants to die, it burns my eyes
the calm has settled all across the land, momentarily
one could with that this never had to be, sitting in the sand
the silence ends and the second wave it seems, is about to light
i pray when i open up my eyes, it was just dream
something crashes down and I hit the ground
i slowly get back up and find it all has stopped
is this really it, the end i see?
so it seems to be, so it seems to be
the conflict at end and we all survive
going home to our lives
everything resolved as we all stand free
we're safe and sound just as I dreamed
I'm shaken to awake by a hurt marine, you've got to fight
it seems still that there is no end in sight, it was just a dream
